Cabal Crafted for
Commons Cafe
Cabal Crafted was tasked with creating custom Aprons. The process starts with a discovery session identifying the needs functionally and aesthetically. This is the guiding light of any design focused process. Countless briefs, drafts and revisions we've got a finished product that reflects Commons roots influenced by Japanese fashion and hospitality in the coffee space.

I was brought in during the physical drafting process. What a treat to spend time with the designers and witness their workflow for myself. I felt obligated to show their process that was slow, intentional and meticulous about the details in a tasteful way.

It was my job to plan, shoot and direct a series of videos that conveys the Japanese spirit. Being able to capture that mood with the lighting, color grading, soundscape and shot choice was a challenge. With limited shooting time we had a real puzzle to solve and only time to capture shots that were a must shoot.

Creativity is all about solving problems with limitations. It was key that we had a simple setup with 1 Aperture 60X and natural light and 1 camera so that we can be lean and nimble so that we can get what we need and get out.
Hope you enjoy.
